Model Tree Display

I'm new to Creo 2 and have found a new and strange behavior. In the model tree my preference to to only display the default column, when I open a new file this is how the model tree displays however if I change the simplified rep the "current rep" column appears and blocks half of the default column. I have tried removing the column and saving the tree config but it always returns. Any suggestions?
