This may sound totally dumb, but I need jam nuts for 6mm rod ends on a strut I'm designing at work. The rod ends have M6 X 1.0 male threads. I was having a lot of trouble trying to find M6 X 1.0 MIL/AMS/NAS spec jam nuts. My project engineer told me that MJ thread nuts will thread onto the rod ends, and to go with them. Is this true? I think it may work since only the minor diameter increases for MALE J-series threads. Please let me know if this will work before I look like a fool at my CDR on the count of my project engineer's call. Thanks.

We don't use too many metric nuts and bolts, but perhaps these guys have them. We buy a zillion nuts and bolts from them.

They are really nice to work with. We have bought from them for over 10 years now.
