I'm hoping that someone know how to fix this...

Somehow, I have lost my "File," "Window," and "Help" pulldowns from the upper-most standard toolbar ONLY in my assembly files. Very irritating. The last thing I remember doing is turning on the toolbox add-in.

I tried unchecking and rechecking it, closing & reopening SW. Does anyone happen to know how to fix this?????

The only thing I can think of for this is that it's possibly buried inside your toolbar customization options. Right-click around your toolbar area and select Customize. Check the Menus tab to see if your File, Window, and Help menus are hidden or turned off or whether they still show. If they still show there, you may have a corrupted installation--in which case running an installation repair may help fix the problem.

Try this:

Close SW

1) Start "Run"
2) Type "Regedit" (without quotes)
3) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Solidworks\Solidworks [version]\Menu Customizations
4) RMB "Menu Customizations"
5) Rename "Menu Customizations" with your initals e.g. "Menu Customizations_SB"
6) Minimize window
7) Restart SW
8) Open up a new file and test

The Registry is a wonderful and complex thing!

One minutes you are hacking the registry, next time you restart, your system is dead... what a wonderful thing!

Hey, that would be even better ... more specific approach.

Scott ... Should the renamed key be deleted after the test is proved OK?
