Hi All,

I am attempting to mirror (associatively if at all possible) a routing assembly. I've been looking thru the forum and Siemens help files, but no consistent result.
what we stumble on is that NX creates the mirrored parts INSIDE your current work part/assembly, (which is not we want in this case..)
When attempting to use a dummy parent assembly for this mirror operation , NX insists to have the source assembly to be the active work part, with the result that the mirrored parts again end up in the same part as where the source parts reside.
so we cannot seem to create a mirror assembly as a new item, but only as parts/components inside active work part/assembly.

Are we missing something between the many checkboxes?

If someone happens to have a 'how-to' for this, that can be shared it would greatly appreciated.
If any customer defaults have an influence on this , please indicate which one(s) ((We are on corporate Admin controlled Defaults..)

We have been attempting to accomplish same with using WAVE linked mirror part (which work well for say weldments and such) , but that does not seem to create 'smart' linked body's for routing stuff(PMI check box is ticked)
In any case when attempting to create an assembly drawing of the WAVE linked mirror part, we cannot create a parts list , as (obviously) there is no assembly structure in the WAVE mirrored part.

Am on TC 12.4.0.7 NX 1973.3300

Thanks
