This just came in.....

low Cr piping welding (1¼Cr, 2¼Cr, 5Cr and 9Cr), We need two minimum PWHT cycles

Is this a code requirement from B31.3???

Thanks,

Hi Hub,
Where is this requirement noted in Para 331 ?

My response to the OP was going to be two cycles is a Client requirement to cover initial PWHT and a possible second cycle if a repair is performed.

It may be the Code doesnt specify a certain amount of cycles are required - it may be the code doesnt explicility prevent you from doing more than 1 cycle.
Point is, we're not a free-of-charge consultant firm called Eng-tips. The OP hasnt shown any proof he looked for such a requirement himself (instead he mentioned 'this just in').
