Miniature parts and tools

I am designing a model Hawker Hurricane. Having trouble finding parts and tools for the landing gear. I need 1/8 square steel tube and a #2-56 ldft hand tap and die. Where can I find these beasts?

McMaster-Carr has brass square tubes that small. If it has to be steel I guess you could make one out of shim stock.

Try some model locomotive & steam engine guys. They're always looking for tiny and/or odd material and tools, and can probably point you in the right direction. I used to have a link to a site, but I can't find it now.

I’ve bought a lot of stuff from both of these sources. Micro Mark is still very good to deal with. I haven’t bought much from the Micrgroup lately but they were once very good to work with.

Left hand tap & die: depends where you are. If you are in the UK then try A J Reeves & Co., model engineers in Birmingham. If they haven't got them, they might point you in the right direction.
