Hi all,

I am using Shell element in my analysis. When plotting the results, it is quite different for 'Top layer' and 'Middle layer'. Can anyone give me some idea about the difference between them? Or it will help if you can refer me to some information talking about how those stresses are calculated.

Thanks!

Hi

The differece between those two is that the top layer results are liniare integrational results of the middle layer so you have to be very carefull how to interpet these results.

Garry,

Thanks for your information. Is the results of Middle layer same with the results generated using ELEMENT TABLE? Say I use 'average' option for ELEMENT TABLE.

BTW, is there any way to learn some detailed algorithm of those ANSYS command?

Thanks,
Yoyo
