I am interested in etching microposts in glass with an aspect ratio of ~1-2.

Can anyone tell me if these structures will be resistant to fracture or if they can be easily broken off the surface when scratched with a fingernail?

is the ratio height to diameter or diameter to height?

if the etching is purely chemical, the finish will be smooth/polished and posts will be as strong as the parent material, failures will occur at "sharp" corners which should be non-existent for your etching.

The aspect ratio is height to width and we would dry etch the glass to get sharp corners since these are needed for our application.
