Does any one know how MS preforms with new computer hardware? We are looking to get some new workstations and I would like to know if Duel Processors (Xeon *2), Duel Core (P4 D) or 64bit processors (AMD64) is the way to go. Is it also safe to assume that the more ram, the better (+2gig)?

Hamma,
the 64bit may not give an advantage, assuming there is not a 64bit Microstation. Dual processors may help or even a dual core. I cannot think of why this would hurt. As to RAM, IT NEVER HURTS! I would say that a single processor should suffice unles you are doing alot of 3D rendering and such. I've been in the civil engineering field for 10 years and have always had a single processor machine for typical CAD usage. Hopefully, some can be of more help than me.
