Is there a future NX release that will allow a Microsoft word or excel spreadsheet to be embedded in a drawing? It seems to be fairly common with other cad packages, including Solid Edge. There are several advantages to using office products instead of the native NX (7.5) note/tables which are very limited and outdated.

Sounds like a useful ER (Enhancement Request). May I suggest that you contact GTAC and have them open one for that request.

IR to ER ? Sounds a like familiar procedure...
Just double check the priority code they set to be sure you don't need another life to see it released.

When dealing with GTAC ALL inquires start out life as an IR (Incident Report). Depending on what happens next, an 'Incident' may be resolved by the GTAC personnel and will never go any further than that. However, if something proves to be related to something which is an error or problem with the software than that IR is converted into a PR (Problem Report) and then it becomes the responsibility of the appropriate development group to resolve. Or if it proves to be a request for new or additional capabilities where it does not involve product quality or something which should have been part of a current function, then it's converted into an ER (Enhancement Request) and it becomes the responsibility of the appropriate Product Manager.
