Can anyone advise the most efficient method of heating acrylic sheet for forming windscreens?
I have heard that electric, bar type heaters of the room heater type are used but isn't there something like the frequency of the radiation to be considered? If the radiation was the right frequency, the sheet would absorb it instead of passing through.
Thanks, Gyro.

Any oven that the plastic sheet for the windshield will fit in will work. I have used a household oven in the past for a small window. You only have to heat it to 220-300 deg F. I would use an accurate thermometer and not rely on the oven's thermostat.

we use an oven and press
right on about the temperature indication there is only a in the process we use there is only a small temperature window where the plastic becomes pliable to form and hold shape and being marked by the former pressed into it we have found that the former should also be kept inside the oven to gain heat also as when the relatively large surface are hits the sheet it chills very quickly
