I am trying to identify the exact process or possible processes by which a PC PBT polymer can be sprayed with a metallic paint finish, best described as:

A metallic car paint finish
A metallic lustre with depth - a base coat with 1 or 2 layers of laquer applied

It is a spraying process but what exactly it is I don't know. Someone in the automotive industry I suspect would know .

It is a finish I am looking at appyling to a part and woulkd like to find out its specification (tradeneme), who does it (this I can track down once ¦ know what it is I need to ask people about)
I also what to establish a cost for the process and compare it to a metallic loaded self coloured plastic option.

Any help or tips would be wonderful.
Thanks

I would suggest going to the GE Plastics web site and sending an email to them regarding a possible procedure for accomplishing this.
