Hi,

There is something I don't understand with the 2D ALE adaptive meshing:

I have two different models using this method but two different results.

First model: a first step without ALE, a second with ALE: one inflow and one outflow eulerian boundary regions. The mesh moves with the material and the geometry is updated.

Second model: a single step with ALE, the same inflow and outflow eulerian boudary surfaces. This time the mesh doesn't move with the material !!! : The stresses change with the time but the geometry remains the same !!!

What can influence the displacement of the mesh in an ALE ????

Thx

Hi,Doug,
Could you tell me how to define inflow and outflow eulerian boundary in ALE?
Thank you so much!

In your *.inp file:

*Surface, name=..., region type=eulerian

HELLO
I MADE A MODEL IN ABAQUS CAE FOR FRICTION STIR WELDING PROCESSING BUT IN INFLOW AND OUTFLOW DEFINITION I HAVE PROBLEM AND MY ERROR IS "An Eulerian boundary region cannot overlap a sliding boundary region" . I ATTACH MY .inp FILE, PLEASE HELP ME!
Thank you so much.
