I am new to membranes but I need to do some testing on a cermaic membrane filter. I need to ask certain questions
1. Is there a book to consult about comprehensively testing membranes on a pilot scale for field purposes.
2. How do I caculate the
i. surface area of a crossflow ceramic membrane
ii. Permeate flux
iii. reading through a membrane text-book I came upon
the Hagen-Poiseuille model for flux but I cannot
define what the "length of the channel(membrane
skin thickness)" is in my ceramc membrane.
My scenario is to determine if certain ceramic membranes are suitable for a field application in filtering a field waste with about 2-3% solids, I have a pilot plant/equipment and I am expected to test different ceramic membranes.
Thanks
