hi

I am trying to source a medium voltage switch, 3 pole, able to work at 3.6kv, 320mA.

any ideas appreciated

thanks

With only a 320ma load, how much contact resistance can you tolerate? Any kind of switch is going to have some, but it may or may not be significant. Only you can know that.

The smallest 5kV class switch I know of is 600A. What is the application?

What comes to my mind is whatever they use to control the output of a 5kV digital megger, or even a hi-pot test set.

Check out Kilovac's website. Now part of Tyco's empire, for better or worse. [sad]

Maybe the requirement is interrupting 320 mA of magnetizing current instead of a continuous rating.

many thanks guys

application is for a marine cable that is being terminated at shore, I believe it is some kind of data carrying cable,

at the minute Tyco and rossengineeringcorp looks good,

any more welcome,

many thanks
