I needhelp/advice for calculating forces on a moving rod.
I have a hollow shaft (4 inch dia) of steel ... I want to move it to and fro (translational) at a speed of about 10 to 15 m/s ... What force do I need to have ? and what weight wil be required to counter the forces for a balanced structure ?
