Hi !

Does anybody know how I can simulate an operation with a vnc.tcl controller for a 5 axis post, with MCS offcentered from C-axis rotation as shown.

Even our Nx reseller told us it was impossible, I've read in the documentation:

For 4- and 5-axis machines, the Z-axis of the MCS must be parallel to the Z-axis of the machine defined using the Machine Tool Builder. Additionally, if either rotary component is in the table, the X and Y-axes must also be parallel to the physical X and Y machine axes.

Note:

The MCS can be positioned anywhere in space for any mill. The MCS axes should be aligned with the machine axes.

Thanks.

Tom

Hi Tom,

The problem description is a bit brief. I might have written postprocessors that can do what you are after. Without some kind of sample cam program it is difficult to prove ;-).

What controller are you looking into and what version nx?
