Hi Colleagues,

I want to know how well MatLab performs if i use it for learning the Finite Element Method. Remember that i only want to build small models in order to learn the basics of FEA. I will appreciate all suggestions. Thanks in advance,

Victor

Victor,

I can recommend the book The Finite Element Method Using Matlab by Young W. Kwon & Hyochoong Bang. I used it to learn more about the fundamentals of FEM when programming in MATLAB. There is also MATLAB Guide to Finite Elements: An Interactive Approach
by Peter Issa Kattan, but I am not familiar with it.

Programming FEM with MATLAB is a very effective learning tool in my opinion.

Best regards,

Matthew Ian Loew
