Hello
Please I have a question. I am trying to model a multiple ply and I want to go in the direction of homogenization approach (i.e homogenized properties of fiber and matrix will be considered) Do I choose "Global orientation with an option of "element isoparametric direction 3 (bottom to top)"" OR "Coordinate system with the possibility of setting an angle of rotation"? I know that my plies are arranged in 0 degree/ 90 degrees and on and on like that. What do I choose please?

Can you attach those screenshots individually ? It's hard to see the settings shown there.

Thank you. I have attached a clearer

one.

So you don't want to model individual plies using a composite shell section ? That's possible (and easy to do) using the composite layup feature. If you want to assign a single orthotropic material then you have to calculate equivalent material properties and you can use them with any orientation, even aligned with a global CSYS.

Thank you so much for your response!
