Hi,
I have some troubling regarding an analysis of a cylindrical shell. I have used a NLIN mat model for concrete (CSC) with rebar definition.
The problem occurs when abaqus assigns material orientation to my cylinder, which is used for rebar orientation.
A single line in the cylinder has a material orientation 90 deg off the normal orientation. The force output and also rebar forces for this line will then be wrong.

Any tips?
changing the local orientation is not permitted for this material model..

Is it really just a line (a node set), not a surface region (an element set) ? Separate orientation can be applied to rebars as described in the documentation chapter "Defining reinforcement" (paragraph "Local orientation system for three-dimensional elements").

Its a cylindrical shell with rebars embedded through the section assignment.
Yes, for a "normal" material one could define a local orientation for the rebars and material, but this is not allowed for some materials.

For anyone interested I solved this by orientating my shell such that the global 1- axis has the same orientation as the local material 2-axis. This solves the problem for the area which I am looking for.
