We are looking for a convenient material having spring characteristic also having good corrosion and fatigue resistance. This is a part of a knee joint which is used by people having artificial limbs. The frequesncy of the load on the part is 1/3 Hz as it indicates that the dynamic force effect with respect to the time during the gait of a human. If you can send me your e-mail, I can also send you the figure of the application and the a part.

Also I would like to know whether the geometry of the material is also important on the spring action. Any help would be appreciated.

You will be extremely limited on the materials that can be used in an artificial joint. Titanium alloys and low-Ni stainless steels are most frequently for implants. Co-Cr alloys are also used, but I am not familiar with them being used in spring applications. Regarding geometry, this will have a HUGE effect on the spring characteristics, so please post additional details-- shape, thickness, etc.

Thank you for your response.Pls send me your e-mail address in order me to send the info you requested.
