I will start a benchmark between several FEM programs in our company next month. For some of the programs, I will use FEMAP as pre/post processor. What I have already found out, is that the material database is not in SI-units. The SI-units library is full of zero's. Since i would like to spend all the time I can find on the different programs, I am looking for a material library file in SI-units, so I don't have to spend any time on manually adding al the materials. Can somebody provide me the library or tell me where I can get one?

Regards,

Arnold

arnoldh,

The actual nuts and bolts of FEMAP are done by the guys here:

EDS/FEMAP Division
411 Eagleview Blvd.
Suite 108
Exton, PA 19341 USA
Tel: 610-458-3660
Fax: 610-458-3665

Call them and tell them what you are trying to do. The two names I remember over there are Dan Hinkle and George Rudy. I don't know how accessible they are though. Perhaps they will send the material libraries directly to you. If not, you can try this site:

They allow a download of FEMAP but I don't know what is included with the download. It appears to be the full blown version in all of its 145 MB glory. It is V8.2 which is the first version I recall getting the SI units with. If you still have trouble, let me know and I may be able to help you further, but please make your first route FEMAP in Exton.
