According to your experience, what material should be used for piping with anhydrous HCl?
Process conditions are:
Temp: -35 to 50 °C ( -31 to 122 F)
Press: FullVacuum to 45 bar.
Thank you!

fd74,
Anhydrous HCL could be piped in carbon steel for the ambient temperature conditions. For the -35C condition a stainless steel pipng system would avoid most of the requirements (impact tested materials) that would accompany a carbon steel system for service below -20F.
The stainless steel system would also offer some corrosion resistance in event of moisture contamination.
Tank trucks and tube trailers are usually stainless steel, while rail tank cars have been carbon steel.

Right, anhydrous HCl is not corrosive to stainless steel. It's water that makes it corrosive. Even superalloys like Monel (used for HCl pressure regulators) can be corroded if moisture is present.
