Material designations old steel types

Hi,

Does anyone have a tip on what material SsT45.3 can be compared With? Is there a site that has a good table for this you can recommend?
Tried a Google search, but it doesn't seem to find this material.

SS is steel material according to swedish standards
ST is steel according to DIN standards (Germany - now EN standards)

Are you sure of the material type ? furthermore is it metal ?

Yes its a metal and it should be a stainless steel. I was under the impression that this "SsT" stood for "stainless steel", but i could be wrong. I assume the designation will be according to DIN. DIN also used Gst for castings, but i can't find the SsT45.3 anywhere so i was hoping that someone could tell me a more common known "modern" equivalent.

There is a GS-45.3 but it is for cast steel.

@Dougt115, tat is correct. However i'm not sure if this material can be compared to the Sst45.3 material. Perhaps the material forum would be a better Place to as this qustion?

GS 45.3 (guss -stahl(german 'cast steel).Old DIN standard. No other material designated 45.3, and quite common.)
SS Abbreviation for Swedish Standard
SS Abbreviation for stainless steel (but not in Swedish standard)
S-Constructural steel in EN- standards
St - older for steel (Scandinavian and German standards)
T? (not used??)

It looks like it must be GST45.3, i think they mixed a bit with the standards on the old drawings. SST could stand for støypestål ( casting)

don't have access to the stahlschlussel (key to steel?) right now, but if it exists, it'l more than likely to be referenced in there.

Firstly,there is no such grade Sst45.3 in all steels.So you'd better confirm it again.It better to be informed the steel standard.

For information of similar writing grades:

St52-3(St52.3),it is low alloy steel grade in German steel standard Din17100,you can check on St52-3 mechanicals

SG-45.3,it is one grade in European standard,main application is for flywheel,steam driven hammer and so on.
