Mass connection

hello everyone,


i am connecting a mass element to the circular surface region( for a shaft) through rigidconnection. During analysis i get an error: mass element is not connected to any elements. i am doing the same to simulate the coupling mass on the shaft. Please help where i am going wrong

You might want to try beam elements to connect the mass element to the shaft.

Rigid connection is not a valid connection type for mass elements. Mass elements assigned to points out in space must be associated with a solid, shell or beam. use a beam to connect the mass as jabbadeus already suggeted

thank you for the information. I tried with beam elements and also directly attaching the mass to solid and both are working fine
