Hi,

Our office just landed a project for a 13-story load-bearing masonry wall building. My boss told me to find a good software program to use for masonry analysis/design. We'll probably use the software for gravity and lateral loading. Can anyone recommend a good software program?

Thanks!

I don't think there's a lot out there, but check out the NCMA program... it's decent.

RAM Elements had a module for multistory masonry walls - handles gravity, lateral, out of plane loads, openings, etc. It's reasonably good.

For something less advanced (and also less expensive), ENERCALC comes with several several masonry design calculations built it.

I thought that Enercalc had some limited masonry provisions but it's been a while since I've had access to it so I might be mistaken.

You may want to look into TEDDs. Among other things it does some masonry calcs too.
