I have a stone masonry pier that is very tall (on the order of 50' unbraced), but it's not a wall section. It more resembles an angle. I don't believe the standard equations out of ACI 530 are applicable to this section, specifically for a torsional buckling mode.
How would you go about doing a check on this? My first pass was to look at only the one leg to equate it to a wall, but the severe cracking suggests a torsional behavior, so I'm really at a loss on how to proceed.
