All, whats your detail for LVL framing onto Pipe column? Column cap with some lag bolts up from bottom, or saddle with thru bolts? The joists sit on top of the beams. I'm leaning towards the saddle for beam stability, or add a diagonal brace. Thoughts?

I agree with the saddle. Simpson even sells them without brackets on the bottom so you can weld it to a pipe - saves on custom fabrication.

Thanks, Saddle seems best bet. I see a prefab deal that is made by Akron products that bolts to top of a pipe column (their column I assume).

Simpson CCOQ or ECCOQ connectors, welded to the top of the column. And, nailed or screwed to the LVL.

The O designation means the vertical straps (which are intended for a wood column) are left out. So, it becomes a really good connection for a pipe column to wood beam.
