Does anyone know what joint design group to use for Hyne LVL members? I am doing a bolted connection to AS1720.

Thanks and regards.

You need to refer to manufacture spec, you can get many different grades of LVL.

As he said, but it's typically JD4 for radiata pine LVL.

The design in hyne program says JD3.

Can't help you to much in my area they only supply LGL and did away with LVL.

The latest Tilling advice is down to JD5 for fixing parallel to the glue lines (rad pine LVL).

You need to be confident that the specified manufacturer will be used on site if using the higher strength group.

What does everyone think about using recycled timber? Say some wood trusses were brought down from site, before that timber can be reused, does it need to go away for treatment and grading?
