Hello all,
I'm looking for a paper that I used to have a PDF of, but I'm now unable to find either in my files or online. The title, as I recall, was "The Faustian and the Magian in the Building of a Building Code", or very similar, by Mete A. Sozen (who sadly passed away a couple of week ago, RIP).
The paper was built around discussion of how certain concrete code provisions have evolved through three examples: shear design, flat slabs, and load testing. I was able to find a couple of articles from Concrete International, "The Building of a Building Code" which covered shear design and load testing, and "Young Jirsa's Yen" which covered flat slabs, though in a bit different way than I remember in the paper I'm looking for. I'm hoping to find the above-noted paper that I remember, which included all three examples.
Can any of you fine Eng-Tippers share this paper if you have it in your libraries?
Thanks!
Chad
