Hello Folks, I wonder if somebody has ever made the cool down of an LNG tank using liquid nitrogen.
Thanks.

Why wouldn't you just use the LNG and recompress the stuff that vaporizes?

Then why would you need to cool down an LNG tank, unless you were getting ready to fill it?

Hello Folks, I wonder if somebody has ever made the cool down of an LNG tank using liquid nitrogen.
There's no reason why you couldn't, as long as the tank was designed and built to handle both the temperature and weight. Note that the temperature is low enough the manufacturer will need to use typical steels used in the manufacture of any cryogenic tank, but the density is considerably lower. Verify with the manufacturer that the tank can handle the weight.

I use a truck load of liquid nitrogen to cool down my LNG plant before I start it up, its cheaper. You don't need to fill the tank, just add enough to chill it down.
