Technologists at our chemical plant have an idea to storage liquide white phosphorus in concrete basin (instead of stainless steel tank). Principle is to store liquide phosphorus at 70-80 C deg under demineralized water blanket to prevent contact it with air (oxygen). Now I’m trying to find any disadvantage for such storage solution. It’s important from safety point of view. For example, is concrete/cement passive to liquide phosphorus? Is there any possibility of concrete erosion/corrosion and phosphorus spill to the ground? Maybe you know some literature where I can find helpful information?
