Lift shear wall and column has to be joint?

Can we construct shear wall for lift above orginal foundation as the original footing is more deeper than required lift pit. So the mat footing for shear wall raises above the original building foundation. I plan to attach the shear wall into orginal building column but will have different footing. I hope you understand
