Hello all,
I was trying to find a way to change the level of transparency of parts/assemblies but could not find anything to do this. I have assembly models where I want to show only specific parts and the rest of the assembly should be transparent but I would like them to be more transparent than the default level. Is there a way to adjust the level of transparency in the assemblies and drawings?

Thanks very much for any suggestions,
BB

If you right click on a part there should be an icon in the pop-up menu that looks like a part with a pair of glasses on it. You can use that to change the level of transparency. I'm pretty sure this was the same in '08.

Hi Eltron,
I am sorry but I meant changing the level from what using the "eyeglasses" default level is. I am using the method you suggested but I need to make the transparency "more invisible".

Maybe a better way to explain what I am looking for is just like the option of changing the level of transparency for planes (it is user adjustable). I would like to be able to do the same for the transparency of parts and assemblies.

Go to Tools > Options > System Options > Display/Selection --- Assembly transparency for in-context edit > Force Assembly Transparency and adjust to suit.

You can change each part in your assembly to get the desired effect. In a part, tools-options-doc properties-color- Click "Apply same color to wireframe..." and then go to advanced and move the transparency control to the right. The advanced will be greyed out if the "Apply..." is not on. I have tried this but I found it adds too many confusing lines at the drawing level.
