I am developing a land use map with Land desktop 3 and I would like to calculate the areas for the parcels with my database. The problem is I don't know how to get AutoCAD to calculate the area of a parcel correctly if there is a hole in the center. I have many instances where a parcel falls totally inside another. I can cross reference in the database but I am sure that Land Development will have a solution to such a common problem, I just have not found it yet. Also is there a way to have the program build a linked database as you define the parcels? I am relatively new to this and any help, or a point to a good source of info would be appreciated.

Just an update, I talked to the AutoDesk people at the GITA Conference and they let me know that the current Land Desktop does not maintain a connection between the parcel label and the polyline. It also does not create a database that can be used externally.
