I suspect a few pople may be interested in this. The main span will be lifted off barges today and connected tot eh approach spans.

In October 2009, NYSDOT and VTrans were in preliminary design for a replacement of the 2,184 feet (666 m) long, 80 year old bridge, when inspectors found dangerous cracks in one of the piers of the old bridge. Because of the risk of sudden catostrophic collapse, it was closed, resulting in a 100 mile detour.

Been over the old bridge many times.
Looking forward to using the new one next summer.
