Is there a method of using restraints on a local axis and not a global one.
I want to try to model pipeline restraints, but for a guide that permits longitudinal movement. The pipe may be inclined in two directions at various locations.
dik, I think to do that you have to create an infinitely rigid fictional member, oriented with the local axis, that intersects your member. Then pin the moment in the fictional member for the release that you need.
Take a look at the RISA help file under "Modeling Tips" then scroll down to the section titled "Modeling Inclined Supports". I believe this is what JAE was refering to.
