Jason Moran is probably the most well-known among the younger jazz pianists.

He was awarded a McArthur fellowship in 2010, that means he was considered a musical Genius.
Some of his Tunes are really innovative, like 'ringing my phone', first time I listened to it I really couldn't believe my ears!!

Will give it a look. I've discovered Hiromi, a lady pianist I like her albums "Voice" in 2011 and "Move" in 2013

Interesting but a bit disconcerting as sometmes Keith Jarrets humming when he plays

BigH, hiromi is another well known Young pianist, with a virtuoso style as well.
Jason Moran also plays in more conventional ways, I love his rendition of thelonous Monk's friday 13th, presently he's the best interpreter of Monk's Tunes, so much so that I almost believe he's Monk's soul reincarnated, seriously.

I've pretty much been wondering about the 'ringing my phone' totally unusual idea, and then I came across this youtube clip where Jason Moran explains it all. The language is Turkish. just astounding how he had this idea, producing a tune out of a phone call - in Turkish!!. It's not for nothing that he has been judged a musical Genius.
