When editing a part in the context of an assembly, all other parts change to the transparent state I set in "Options". However, if I Isolate several components and then edit a part, I cannot get the other pieces to change transparency. What's up with that? Thank you

After isolating the parts, change the transparency before entering the Edit Part mode.

Thanks for your reply.
I am able to make the whole assembly transparent, which is not what I want. I want all parts except the one being edited to be transparent.

After the isolate command you'll have to change the transparancy of each part individually then go into the edit part mode

Have you tried the Force Transparency in the Tools\Options\System options\Display/Selection\Assembly transparency for in-context edit?

I have tried changing those settings. They do work while not isolating components, but as soon as I start isolating pieces, the setting seem to have no effect.
