Hi

I am working on a circular water tank that is 6m in diameter and the tank itself is 1m high. This tank is held 10m above ground on a frame. I am trying to work out the aerodynamic shape factor using AS1170.2 Cl C5.2.1. The formula for Cpb is only valid provided c/b is between 0.25 and 4.0 inclusive. in my case c/b=1/6=0.167. Which means I cannot use that formula to calculate cpb. So what do I do? The code is not very clear on this.

Any assistance is much appreciated.

Regards

You probably need to look at the paper which the code references for this and see why they put in the limits and then use engineering judgement.

"Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning."

This rings a bell. In the thread linked below, someone suggested AS 1210. I don't have it myself to check whether it covers your case but worth a mention.
