After a brief web search, it appears there are many courses offered. Can anyone make a recommendation as to a training course(s) offered in the US that will lead to accreditation as an auditor?

More information is needed.

What does your company do?
Are you talking about ISO 9001:2008 Internal Auditors?
Where are you located geographically?
Etc, etc.

Have you read faq731-376 to make the best use of these Forums?

MM,
The vessel manufacturing company I work for is located in Texas. Yes to your second question.

Thanks,

I mislead you a bit, as the 2008 version of ISO-9001 is not official yet, so you will be training under ISO-9001:2000. If no one is familar with ISO-9001, some up front research would be recommended.
You should look into Lead and Internal Auditor training, probably include an executive overview course for the bosses. I would start by finding a Registrar in your area, they will be able to direct you to recommended trainers.

ASQ has training on ISO.
I believe they conduct training & test twice a year. There are different regions that schedule differnt times of the year.
