Is VRF allowed for use in patient rooms? Are the air supply outlets of indoor units also required to meet the MERV 14 filtration level?

Is VRF allowed for use in patient rooms? Are the air supply outlets of indoor units also required to meet the MERV 14 filtration level?
 
As long as the unit delivers required air quantity at the appropriate filtration level it is immaterial whether the cooling comes from a chiller or aDx unit. The other thing you need to be mindful is that a refrigerant leak should not deplete oxygen level in the patient room so the main condensing unit sizing needs to take this into consideration
