I'm working on a drawing that has some test results shown as an average value. The engineer wants to express these results as 'x(with an overline) = value'. Is there any way to show the overline and have it be incorporated into the text? I've tried creating the text in Word and copying it to the SW print but it won't recognize the overline. Thanks.

seems to me like you will have to find a font that has that character. Look at the Universal math font some others.

Don't spend too much time on this if it's a one-off request. Just draw the line directly and call it a day. If you are concerned about shifting of the entities, you can group them together.

If you really want this symbol, you can create it by editing your gtol.sym file. A line and an X aren't all that hard to create.

Actually, I just figured out a way to cheat in SolidWorks using Annotation Stack function.

1. Start an annotation note.
2. With the note active and your typing cursor placed at the desired location within the note, click on the Stack button from the Annotations toolbar.
3. Choose the style with the line down the middle.
4. Choose the bottom alignment option.
5. Type your overlined text in the Lower text field.
