Is there a trick to SAVE AS part B to a new revision of an existing part A in NX8.5 and TeamCenter8

Hi

In my company we work with nx8.5 under teamcenter 8.

I have 2 parts part A and part B
(the content of the parts are adaquate to the operation that I want to do)

I want to save part B as a new revision of part A.

Is anyone have a trick of how to do this.

Revise your part A , tell the system to discard the Dataset (to prevent it from being used in an assembly).
in TC save as your part B to the Part A rev (type in the part A ID). Most probably the system will tell you it is not possible to create the new dataset in Part A rev but it will create the dataset.
Search for the new dataset name and paste it in new rev part A.

is "Revise your part A" I do it in nx or in tc and if in nx
How I "tell the system to discard the Dataset"

That is not possible in NX...You need to revise and do the save-as in TC

You can use Named Reference swap from Part B after doing save as on part A to new rev.

 

[SDETERS]

Could you rename the revision A to a different revision. Open the renamed Revision "A" in NX and do a saveas to the ""A" Revision.
