Is there a standard that requires a parts list (or BOM) in a certain section/placemnt of the print?

What I mean is does the parts list have to be on the bottom in the middle, left corner, right corner, upper corner, lower corner, etc? If there is such a standard, where would I find this?

If you are in ASME world, you may want to search for ASME Y14.34. In the '96 version of the standard (there is a newer version, issued in 2008) paragraph 5.5 is what you probably need.

How is placing it above the title block taking up a ton of paper real estate - unless it's a really long parts list?
