Hello everyone,

I have a 3D lattice structure created meshed with beam elements from coordinates and connections. Is it possible, to create a solid model from it? More specifically, to extrude the beams and mesh them with solid elements (without actually having a solid 3D model/part).

I'm currently using a workaround, where I generate an STL model from the coordinates and connection, which I then transform into a Parasolid model via a CAD software. However, this is very tedious and creates an ugly structure and mesh, due to the triangulation.

Thank you very much.

I don't see a way how to create solids from beams in A/CAE in an elegant way. Your methos with a CAD system is probably better than everythings that could be done with A/CAE.

But you can have a look at the Virtual Topology option in the mesh module to ignory unimportant edges when meshing the geometry.
