I'm getting this message on a number of drawings that were created in an older version of solidworks (2006). It
ll allow me to open them but not save and not "save as" in the detached or attached format. It will allow saves in other formats. Has anyone experienced this with drawings and found the issue?

BTW - these drawings have imbedded images in them but the removal of the images and the sheets they reside on does not allow saving.

thanks

Are the dwgs or any of the images on a server that you are locked out of?

No and removing the images from the drawing yields no changes to the inability to save the document

I had a somewhat similar situation happen to me, although I don't think I ever got the message about the drawing being corrupt and being unable to save. I might have gotten that exact message and am not remembering everything correctly, however.

My problem stemmed from the fact that I was taking some work home and working on drawings that had been started in SWX 2006, SP3 (not sure about the SP) on my machine that was running SP0. When I got the files back to my office the drawings were hosed. I'm not sure if this is your issue and even if it is I don't have a solution. When this happened to me I was fortunately able to save the drawings as PDFs which I then used as a reference to recreate the drawings.

Served me right for taking my work home with me.........

Can you copy the views to a new drawing and save the new one?

Eric

thats my solution now but its painful with the number of sheets involved and the number of drawings.

rmetzger,
We got the error (cannot save and cannot "save as") several times when we were running SolidWorks 2007 sp0 thru sp3.0. Now that we are up to sp3.1 we never get that error, at least 99% of the time now.
