Hi Folks
I am designing an adapter that on 1 end requires a standard male 3/8" socket (standard working rachet sockets and extensions).

I am looiking at the Machinery's Handbook and see on page 949 (Edition 27) the dimensions for "American Standard Square Drives for Portable and Electric Tools ASA B5.38-1958)

I assume this is applicable to the square ends found on standard sockets and extensions

Thanks
Jay

Thanks so much...being an electrical engineer, this world of mechanical "stuff" can be confusing...

I'm looking for the dimensions for the male end of a 3/8" extension (width, depth, ball detent setback, etc). I believe the data I found appears to be the data for standard sockets and extensions (male and female sides)
