Hope you can help.

I am trying to load a large assembly model that I have been working on over the last year. I have never had any issues with it loading until this week. From reading past posts, I should do a cleanup, but the model will not load. Attached is the error message.

Thanks in advance

Load the file Structure only and see if that helps. Then load sub-components 1 at a time.

Sorry, that did not work either, although it got me to the error message much faster.

This is a large model combining 3 separate machines and a robot handling system. Not sure loading the individual components is feasible.

As Ben says, load the structure only. Run Part cleanup. Save.
if this works well, try load "upper half" of the assembly navigator, run part cleanup again, Save.
If this doesn't work, load "lower half" of assembly navigator, part cleanup save.
then load upper 1/4 etc etc to try find the critical file.
Try loading this file separately and run part cleanup.

I have seen cases where i get better "cleaning results" if i load the parts fully.
A good tip is to turn off the Partial loading option before you start loading the assembly for this exercise.
If you don't, you can right click in the assy navigator and Open - component fully.

Hi Tomas,
Problem is the model does not load even with structure only highlighted. I cannot run part cleanup unless the part loads.....right?

Just to make sure that we are at the same spot and not speaking about different things :
If you start a NX session, then File- Options - assembly Load Options : Load = Structure only + OK, Then you load the assembly,
does it open ?

If it opens, ( You get the assembly navigator up with the component structure) the assembly file is 100% loaded and can be Part cleanup : File - Utilities - Part Cleanup, turn on all options except the "serious delete actions" then OK. Save.

If it doesn't load, maybe you should speak to GTAC and see if they can advice.

Tomas

Tomas,
I was finally able to get the assembly to partially load and then loaded the individual components. I still don't know what I did but it seemed to work.
Thanks for the prompt information.
