Hi,

I'm using NX 8.5, only been using nx for about a month. I'm getting this error when attempting to insert an intersection point.

Because this should be so simple I have no idea where to look to determine why it won't work. I'm trying to show the intersection point between the highlighted lines in the attached image. As soon as I select the second object the error comes up and then I'm prompted to select the second object again.

Has this ever occured to anybody else?
Is there some kind of glitch with my install that is causing NX to try to convince me those lines don't intersect?

Yea, I feel your pain, and I am really surprised this hasn't been fixed by now.
The issue is that NX looks at the end as a circle, not as a line like it appears in the view, so technically there is no intersection point of those two entities.
What I do is place a pt to pt centerline on top of that end circle and move the end points of the centerline in so they don't show ~ then I use the centerline for the intersection.
I know this issue has been brought up before, but I can't find the threads, so I am sure that others will chime in on this.

Thanks for the reply. That's a little strange to me.

To be honest, so far I'm finding NX frustrating at times. I understand there are some powerful functions in NX. But the level of complexity for using most functions is too high for the result you get. I guess that's going to be the case being new to the software, I'm going to be biased because it's not what I learnt first.

Attached is a solution provided to me by a friend from 'downunder'. After unzipping, edit the name of the text file by changing the extension from .txt to .vb, which will then allow you to run it as a Journal. Instructions on how to use the program and exactly what it does can be found in the PDF file. I've tested it on the part file included but that's all.
